JEFFERSON — Plan to get up with the chickens this Saturday and head on over to the Jefferson County Dairy Breakfast.

The breakfast, served from 6 to 11 a.m., will be held May 19, at the Jefferson Fair Park Activity Center.

The all-you-can eat breakfast will consist of two kinds of scrambled eggs, Jones Dairy Farm sausage, pancakes, various cheeses, chocolate and white milk, orange juice, coffee, with dairy cakes and ice cream for dessert.

There also will be a 300-pound banana split.

Cost of the breakfast is $7 at the door or $6 with an advance ticket. Children’s tickets are $3 for ages 4 to 12 years, and children 3 years and under eat free.

Tickets are available at all PremierBank locations, Jefferson County City Credit Union, Fort Community Credit Union and the Jefferson Fair Park office. All committee members also have advance tickets.

In addition to the breakfast, the event will feature music by the Variations, and various photo opportunities including calves, dairy princesses and antique tractors.

Addie the cow will be sharing knowledge about the importance of dairy and agriculture in Wisconsin. In the adjoining barn will be games and contests, and pedal tractor pulls for children.

There also will be booths with 20 vendors for the adults to check out. Outdoors will be an antique tractor display and sheep-herding exhibitions with border collies.

Trolley rides from the parking lot to the front of the Fair Park Activity Center, as well as wagon rides, will be offered.

Also going on at the fairgrounds that morning will be the Humane Society of Jefferson County’s Furry Friends 5k Run and Walk on the south end of the park and a horse show at the north end of the park.

The dairy breakfast is sponsored by the Jefferson County Dairy Breakfast Committee, along with the Jefferson County Agri-Business Club and Jefferson County Farm Bureau.
