Jefferson County Health Department COVID-19 Response and Recovery
Although the risk for severe illness from COVID-19 is considered low for most individuals, many of our community members are at high risk for severe illness and death. The best thing you can do is to get vaccinated for COVID-19 and avoid being infected by following the best practices listed below.
- Get vaccinated for COVID-19
- Wear a well-fitting mask in indoor public places when local case rates are high, or if you are at high risk for severe illness from COVID-19
- Monitor your health daily
- Get tested after exposure or when you are ill to prevent spread to others
- Physically distance from others in public places when local case rates are high, or around high-risk individuals and groups.
- Avoid crowds and poorly ventilated spaces when local case rates are high
- Increase ventilation indoors
- Wash your hands often
- Cover coughs and sneezes
Even if you are up to date on COVID-19 vaccination, please practice the public health measures described above while COVID-19 case rates are high
