Shelter Spotlight: Korth Park - Elm Point

Happy Tuesday Park Friends!

Welcome to another thrilling week of our "Shelter Spotlight Segment!" This week we are focusing on one of our most well-loved parks, but we are not talking about the main shelter at Korth Park, we are putting our attention on the pavilion at the bottom of the hill tucked in next to the community gardens, we refer to this shelter as Korth Park - Elm Point. The Elm Point pavilion provides visitors with an excellent location to host events, as the shelter will comfortably fit 55-75 guests, with access to ample parking and restrooms nearby.

A little bit more about Korth Park - Elm Point, situated on the shores of Rock Lake, Korth Park offers visitors a sweeping view of Rock Lake from the top of a glacial drumlin dominating the center of the property. Korth Park was purchased in 2000 to protect the water quality and fish habitat of Rock Lake. This park is also home to an 8-acre restored oak savanna and 60+ acres of tall grass prairies.

For those interested in hiking and running, the park offers a mowed trail system as well as a gravel path along the lake that connects to the Glacial Drumlin Trail. The park also offers great opportunities for simply viewing wildlife or enjoying a moment of solitude in your busy life!
