Shelter Spotlight: Carlin Weld County Park

Calling all nature enthusiasts and disc golf lovers!
Welcome to week 2 of our shelter spotlight segment! This week we are focusing on one of our personal favorites, and a park that maybe not everyone has heard of. Conveniently tucked just outside of Palmyra, Carlin Weld County Park offers up 78 acres and features the rugged topography of the Kettle Moraine area with uplands, a man-made pond, and lowlands with an ephemeral stream. The park is often used for family reunions, picnics, hiking, sledding, snowshoeing, fishing and relaxing.

Carlin Weld Park is most famously known for its 18-hole Disc Golf Course. Open to the public, this course plays through open savanna, hardwood forest, and up and over glacial kettles and ridges. Carlin Weld offers a shelter that is available for rent April through November. This shelter would comfortably fit about 75-95 people, and includes a full range of facilities including restrooms, a drinking fountain, playground equipment and plenty of parking.
