Shelter Spotlight: Dorothy Carnes County Park

Happy New Year Parks users and friends!

We will be starting this year off with a weekly shelter spotlight! Each week will feature a different shelter in our parks system that is available for rent. With wedding and graduation season quickly approaching, you might find that perfect location amongst the trees and under the blue skies.

We will kick off shelter spotlight with a gem in Fort Atkinson, Dorothy Carnes County Park.

You may already be familiar with this beauty, as it covers 512 acres and offers many different amenities, including wildlife watching, hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and so much more. The Shelter at Dorothy Carnes Park is available to rent from April-November and it is yours for the day with hours being from 5am to 10pm. This shelter would comfortably fit about 90-120 people and is one of the few locations with electricity!
