Healthy Communities

Jefferson County has been recognized for its work to improve local health. At Tuesday evening’s Jefferson County Board of Supervisors’ meeting, the county was presented with a rare honor — the Wisconsin Healthy Communities designation. Signs such as the one shown above will be appearing throughout the county to alert the public to the honor. The program recognizes and encourages achievements in health improvement in Wisconsin communities and promotes cooperation across multiple sectors. Shown above are, from left: Barb Morrison Gudgeon of the Community Dental Clinic, Jefferson County Human Services Director Kathi Cauley, Traci Wilson of Fort HealthCare; Jefferson County Health Department Director Gail Scott, Public Health Nurse Emi Reiner, Jefferson County Parks Director Joe Nehmer and Craig Holler, an alcohol and drug treatment provider.
