The Mission of the Jefferson County Drug Free Coalition is to prevent and reduce alcohol, tobacco, and drug abuse among youth and the greater community through county-wide collaboration.

Alcohol, tobacco and other drug use is a growing concern in Jefferson County.  

  • 8 drug overdose deaths in 2016
  • Over 300 drug-related hospital encounters in 2016
  • 349 people in the county cited for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and liquor law arrests (2014)
  • 13 alcohol-related, and 27 drug-related student suspension and expulsions during 2013-2014 school year
  • 18% of adults in Jefferson County engage in binge drinking (2013)
