Exercise Area
Perry Tinsley with donated Terri Tinsley sign
To provide safe and enjoyable dog exercise areas within Jefferson County to promote recreation, health and welfare for companion dogs and their caregivers.

The Jefferson County Dog Park is located just off of Highway 26 between Jefferson and Johnson Creek. The entire park is 109 acres in size. The first phase, 23 acre Terri Tinsley Dog Exercise Area, opened on the site in November of 2003. A major expansion to the dog park was completed in 2009. 36 acres of fenced ground was added to the original 23 acres. Today's expanded park contains two large dog areas as well as two small dog areas.

A daily permit or annual tag is required to bring your dog to the Jefferson County Dog Park. Registration forms are available on-line or at the park. Self-registration tubes are located at all entrances. If purchasing an annual tag, your tag will be mailed to you within one week of receipt. All fees collected are used to support the dog park. You must have a municipal dog license to purchase a County tag. Please check with your local municipality for dog license information.

Visitors are expected to clean up after their dog(s). Doogie bags are provided at each entrance and throughout the park. Waste receptacles are also throughout the park.
