The Correction Instrument bills were signed into law as 2009 Wisconsin Act 348, which created § 706.085. The law was published on May 27 and became effective the next day, May 28,2010.

A correction instrument may need to have a WI Real Estate Transfer return included with recording; if no return is required you must clearly state on the face of the correction instrument the statutory reference exempting the transaction.

Attached is a blank copy of the affidavit of correction, please note this is not the new Correction Instrument.  It is our understanding that the bar is working on a form which will be available in the near future.
