The Jefferson County Human Services Department Intake Unit handles all child and adult protective service matters and referrals. Services include suicide assessments and consequent civil commitments when appropriate.
In addition to performing child abuse/neglect investigations, the Intake unit receives and processes all law enforcement referrals to the juvenile court for delinquent children.
The Intake unit is staffed on a 7 day/24 hour basis whereby staff work out of the office at all times.
