SWAT Team

The Jefferson County Tactical Team was established in 1998, consisting of 11 deputies and one sergeant.  The unit responds to high risk situations and assists on search warrants. Deputies who are interested in joining the S.W.A.T. team go through an extensive tryout and testing period. Those deputies who are chosen to be on the team are sent to  specialized schools to learn new techniques and familiarize themselves with special weapons.
