Well Water Sampling Information

Water Sampling &  Well Testing

The Health Department will sample water for bacteria, nitrates and fluoride free of charge under the following circumstances:

- Pregnant woman or newborn in household

- Follow-up on possible water-borne disease

- Fluoride level check for infants or children needing fluoride supplements due to primary drinking source being well water

All samples are submitted to the State Laboratory of Hygiene in Madison for testing.

All wells that are used for drinking water should tested every year.

Homeowners may also contact a private lab for water testing.
