The Birth to Three Program is a family focused program for children ages birth to three years old with special needs.  The program provides developmental screenings and evaluations.  They are provided to children with a significant medical diagnosis or developmental delays. The developmental areas include speech/language, cognitive, motor, social, and self-help skills.

The Birth to Three Program's staff believe parents and their family are a child's greatest resource. Professional staff members design individual programs together with each family to enhance their child's development. Some of the specialized services include:

  • Early Childhood Special Education
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Physical Therapy
  • Speech/Language Therapy
  • Service Coordination
  • Referrals to other services (Hearing, Vision, Nutrition)
  • Parent Education

Services are home or community based. The specific location is determined by the Individualized Family Service Plan Team. The frequency and duration of services are also determined by the team and written into the Individualized Family Service Plan. The frequency of services can range from six-month rechecks to weekly services. The duration of services can be 15 to 45 minutes, depending on the child's needs. The Early Intervention Program works in the coaching model.  This builds the strengths of the parent and caregiver.  We look at outcomes to help the child function in everyday routines within their family and community.
