All wells that are used for drinking water should be tested every year.
Testing resources listed below.
The Health Department will sample water for bacteria, nitrates and fluoride free of charge under certain circumstances:

Pregnant woman or newborn in household

Follow-up on possible water-borne disease

Fluoride level check for infants or children needing fluoride supplements
due to primary drinking source being well water 

All samples are submitted to the State Laboratory of Hygiene
 in Madison for testing.

For all other water samples a request can be made to the
 State Laboratory of Hygiene.
